Hi, I'm Maureen.
I was born and raised in north Toronto and currently live in Waterloo Region with my husband, Pat, and our two spirited feline friends, Simba and Smokey.
As a child, I was inspired to write short stories by an elementary school teacher. My passion to write continued and after spending forty-plus years working as a Law Clerk responsible for writing hundreds of Mediation Briefs, I became keenly aware of the importance of words and their ability to connect with the reader.
Over the last fifteen years, I re-entered the world of creative writing taking several online courses and returned to my love of short stories.
In September, 2020, when my boss of thirty-two years retired and I was permanently laid off, I returned to school and completed the post-graduate Creative Writing Certificate course through Humber School of Writers.
