Hi, I'm Maureen.
I was born and raised in North Toronto and currently live in Waterloo Region with my husband, Pat, and our two spirited feline friends, Simba and Smokey.
As a child, an elementary school teacher inspired me to write short stories. My passion for writing continued, and after forty-plus years as a Law Clerk writing hundreds of Mediation Briefs, I became keenly aware of words’ power to connect with the reader.
Over the last fifteen years, I re-entered the creative writing world, took several online courses, and returned to my love of short stories before graduating to full-length novels.
In September, 2020, when my boss of thirty-two years retired and I was permanently laid off, I returned to school and completed the post-graduate Creative Writing Certificate course through the Humber School of Writers. Since then, I’ve joined several online writing communities and connected with writers from around the world.
I am currently querying my atmospheric paranormal suspense novel, THE LIGHTKEEPER OF QUIET HILLS, a dual POV standalone novel with series potential, blending folkloric and thriller elements.
At the same time, I’m finalizing further professional edits to my psychological thriller, ALTERED TRUTH, and my Mystery/Suspense Novel, MEADOWLARK.
